News: Glassolutions reach new heights

By

We've all been asked about replacement double glazing at some point, but what happens when you do actually need it replacing and it's way up on the ninth floor?

Experts at Glasssolutions, a leading solutions provider in glass to the glazing, architectural, construction and building maintenance markets in the UK, were recently called in by existing client AXA Commercial Insurance.

The commercial glazing team replaced a double glazed unit on the ninth floor of the company's Standard Life premises in Birmingham one Sunday morning in July.

John Marshall, commercial glazing sector manager at Glassolutions, said: "The complex procedure was completed smoothly and effectively due to the attention to detail in the planning and execution of the project. There was close communication with the local authority to close the road and manage the traffic, and excellent coordination with the engineers to gain access for and utilise a 95 tonne crane and 64 metre truck mount.

"Health and safety was paramount and commercial engineers from our Rotherham, Preston and Bristol branches completed the work."

The French-owned multinational company, which rebranded from Sologlas last year, brought together three separate operating divisions into its 65,000 sq ft premises at Manvers in Rotherham. The division specialises in the installation and maintenance of all glass products and emergency glazing and provides an end-to-end service for individual projects and major contracts ranging from £50 to £10m.
