News: Chamber appoints new board member
Lisa Pogson, resources director at Airmaster Airconditioning Ltd based at Swallownest, Rotherham, has been confirmed as the newest board member at the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.
Airmaster design, install and maintain bespoke, energy efficient heating and air conditioning systems for a range of market sectors. Lisa also sits on the Retail Sector Forum for the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and is a pro-active member of the Chamber's Women in Business group.
Commenting after her nomination was accepted unanimously at a recent Chamber Council meeting, Lisa (pictured) said: "I hope that my passion and commitment that I have focussed on our own business can be reflected in my new role with the Chamber. Here is a real opportunity for me to help shape and influence the local economy and see it grow and prosper. The role of the Chamber is crucial and how we all respond to the opportunities in the months ahead is critical to the regeneration of the region's economy."
Andrew Denniff, chief executive of the Chamber, added: "I am delighted with Lisa's appointment and I am sure I speak on behalf of the Board that we are all looking to working with her over the next few years, during what will be a key period for many businesses within our region."
The Chamber's latest AGM also confirmed the appointment of Paul Jagger of Thomas Rotherham College as president elect, with TRC's chair of governors is set to succeed into the position during November 2014.
