News: New contracts at Rotherham United

By

As the Millers prepare to kick off in their first home game back in the Championship, the club's commercial department has been busy signing up commercial partners.

A five year deal has been signed with ICT supplier GCI for the delivery of internal communication systems and other IT provisioning at the New York Stadium.

Jonathan Ashley, head of business development at GCI, said: "We are certainly looking forward to building a close relationship with Rotherham United, we know we have the support and expertise required to ensure the club is working with the most optimised and latest technologies on the market today, and we believe that with our support we can ensure maximum output for the Millers at all times."

A two-year deal has been signed with Norton Finance that will see the Rotherham company become the new Associate Partner of the club.

The club has also extended the current partnership with International drinks company, Heineken until July 2017. The deal will ensure Heineken's products will continue to be sold in the concourses and hospitality suites around New York Stadium for the next three seasons and the new partnership will see the global brand also become an Official Business Partner of the club.

John Dooley, regional manager for Heineken, said: "Rotherham United are clearly a club that are moving forward and developing at an incredible rate and we are delighted to be involved at such an exciting time.

"After working with the club closely on the opening of the fabulous New York Stadium, and the last two memorable seasons, we felt that this was the perfect time to re-enforce our association by also becoming a Business Partner.

"As Rotherham United prepares for the next exciting new chapter we are looking forward to our continued partnership over the next three seasons and beyond."

Another deal sees iPro, the new company making a splash in the sports industry, become the official supplier of isotonic drinks for the Rotherham United first team.

Steve Coakley, commercial director at Rotherham United, said: "Throughout the close season we've worked hard to boost our off field relationships, with a number of thriving businesses coming on board who all have a proven track record of working in sport.

"iPro is another perfect example of a progressive company that we're delighted to link in and forge a partnership with. They are a fast moving business whose growth over a short space of time has seen them emerge as a leading figure in this particular market."
