News: NAMTEC launch management development programme

By

Businesses looking to invest in the skills of their managers and team leaders can now benefit from a new Management Development programme, which has been introduced by NAMTEC (the National Metals Technology Centre) in Rotherham.

The new Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) programme, which is based on three, two day modules held at Swinden House, is designed to enhance and improve leadership and management skills for those who are new to people management as well as experienced managers who have not had formal training before. On successful completion of the programme learners will achieve the ILM award in leadership and Management at Level 5.

Anita Sunderland from NAMTEC said: "ILM is the most widely recognised qualification to have in management development and has been found to make a major impact on the productivity of a business. We are really pleased to be offering this course here and look forward to being able to support the future development of middle and senior managers."

The six modules include intrapersonal understanding, project management, problem solving, communication, management and leadership development and business acumen. Candidates have the flexibility to study them module by module, as long as they are completed within two years, or can study them over a longer period but not achieve the ILM qualification at the end.

NAMTEC leads on delivering research and technology development, knowledge transfer, and training to companies in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
