News: Bromley looking to next season
It may be the height of summer but Rotherham's Bromley Technologies are already looking forward to the next winter sports season.
Set up by brothers Kristan and Richard Bromley and run with chief operating officer Mike Maddock, Bromley Technologies is based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP).
The company specialises in athlete-focused engineering technology, with its state-of-the-art test facility that helps finesse sporting talent. The company are now taking orders for the 2010 – 2011 Skeleton, Luge and Bobsleigh Season.
The 2009 - 2010 season was yet another successful season for the company with nearly a third of all World Cup Skeleton and Olympic medals won using Bromley equipment. Bromley Technologies Ltd now supply over 20 nations worldwide with race and training equipment.
The company has three world, European and Olympic winners as its public faces - Kristan Bromley, the skeleton's first ever World and European champion, 2006 Olympic silver medallist, Shelley Rudman, and Nicola Minichiello, part of the first British women's pair to win the World championship in 2009.
All three represented Great Britain at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
To boost their capabilities, Bromley has recently launched their new performance engineering design consultancy, Performance Engineered Solutions (PES). In securing an exclusive deal with a leading Formula One team, they can offer aerodynamic packages to Skeleton, Luge and Bobsleigh athletes and teams undertaken in one of the UK's leading wind tunnel facilities.
They are also unveiling a world class environmental test facility which is close to completetion and will enable full structural, vibration and ice friction testing capabilities within extreme environments approaching -60 degrees C.
Dan Fleetcroft, design director at Bromley PES has a background in Formula One, working with McLaren, Arrows and Ferrari. He said: "When it comes to engineering design, performance is a primary differentiator in today's competitive marketplace.
"Whether its enhanced strength to weight ratio or improved functionality of a reengineered part, our aim is to deliver performance focused engineering solutions that surpass our client's needs and expectations, and bring real tangible value
to the business' bottom line.
