By

JELD-WEN, the door manufacturing company based in Rotherham on the Sheffield border at Woodhouse Mill, is extending an open invitation to staff who have retired from the company and their families to join existing employees at a special event to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The company is hosting a fun day to mark five decades of business, which is designed to bring employees of the company together in a day of exciting activities to be held at the company's factory on Sunday October 10 from 11am to 4pm.

This includes craft stalls, a tombola and raffle, demonstration by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, bouncy castle, live music, charity stalls, a factory tour and other entertainments.

Mike Ward, managing director of JELD-WEN, said: "This is a great opportunity for past and present employees to get together and celebrate our 50th anniversary. We have an exciting day planned, with something for all the family and hope as many current and past staff as possible can join us!"

The factory has been established for over 80 years and employs around 300 staff over 52 acres. JELD-WEN, a private company with its headquarters in the US, took over operations in 1999.
