News: AESSEAL recognised for business excellence
Rotherham firm, AESSEAL, has been named as Exporter of the Year at the Yorkshire Post's Excellence in Business Awards.
The company is the world's fourth largest mechanical seal business with a global footprint in 33 countries.
They specialise in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals, bearing protectors and environmental control systems for process equipment, maximising reliability and protecting the environment from leakage.
Since the company's inception in 1979, the business has expanded at a compound rate of more than 20% per annum, with uninterrupted sales and profit growth. AESSEAL now exports to 93 countries worldwide through distributors, joint ventures or wholly-owned subsidiaries.
Group managing director Chris Rea told The Yorkshire Post: "I'm not sure if it's the famous dead-cat bounce or the W, but we have been doing a lot of product development over the last few years particularly for the oil and gas sectors. We have won a few orders recently.
"In general terms, our business is actually up. There is a strong probability that we are going to end up ahead of last year. This month looks like it is going to be a record month."
Last year the Templeborough company opened phase IV of their £10m state-of-the-art investment in UK manufacturing, including nine axis machining centres which are dedicated to AESSEAL's move into hydrocarbon processing.
AESSEAL again just missed in the Companies with a turn-over of more than £50m category.
