News: Rotherham beer festival looking for businesses to join its legion
Organisers of the Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival are calling on local businesses to support the largest event of its kind in the north of England and raise thousands for local charities.
Taking place at Magna between March 5 - 8, 2014, the festival is dependent upon business sponsorship with all funds raised being used to invest in the event, helping to ensure that proceeds raised during the four day event go directly towards helping support four local good causes.
In 2011 the popular festival relocated from its original home of Oakwood Comprehensive School to Magna. Since relocating to Magna, the festival has helped to raise in excess of £125,000 in support of local good causes.
Next year's festival will have a Roman theme bringing together a comprehensive range of beers especially selected from across the Roman Empire, as well as paying tribute the continued success of South Yorkshire's growing Real Ale Community.
Alongside the Real Ales, Wines, Ciders and beers from around the world, the festival hopes to bring together more than 40 live music performances and is looking for sponsorship from local businesses to help make next year's festival a runaway success.
Sponsorship packages within the festival start at just £40, and businesses looking to put their name to their favourite beer or brewery are available £100. After receiving lots of interest from some businesses, this year the festival is also offering companies a chance to try their hand behind the bar, by sponsoring sections of some of the festival's largest areas. For companies looking to make an impact on the festival's anticipated 12,000 visitors there are opportunities to put their name to one of the festival's three stages, sponsor their own bar or even put their logo on the festival glass.
Proceeds from this year's festival will be used to support the work of the Rotherham Hospice, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and the Magna Education Trust. Organisers hope to build on the £40,000 raised during 2013.
Festival organiser, Stephen Burns said: "Businesses play a vital role in the festival and the funds raised through sponsorship goes towards paying for many different elements of the festival including helping us to replace broken beer pumps and bars, many of which have given the event more than twenty years of service.
"This year we're offering a number of new ways that businesses can support the event, meaning that there's never been a better time to get involved. We offer a comprehensive range of packages that are available to suit businesses of all shapes and sizes, meaning that whether your company is a seasoned supporter of the festival, or looking to invest in the local community for the first time, there's never been a better time to get involved!"
