News: Rotherham United confirm new sponsors

By

In addition to signing up new players, Rotherham United is signing up new sponsors as it prepares for its second season in the Championship.

One returning name is car dealership, Perrys after a new one year contract was agreed that will see the company name continue to be on the back of the Rotherham United home shirt for the 2015/16 season.

Stephen Ayre, general manager at Perrys, which has a branch at Parkgate, said: "We're really pleased to have renewed our sponsorship with Rotherham United after a great season last season when the club consolidated their position in the Championship.

"We always want to be involved in the community because we're based in Rotherham and very proud of the town.

"We're heavily involved in a number of community projects, much like the club and that's what makes this such a great partnership.

"We wish Rotherham United every success in the forthcoming campaign and look forward to seeing our companies name on the back of the home shirts throughout the course of the season."

Mark Hitchens, head of commercial at Rotherham United, added: "I'm thrilled that Rotherham United's home shirts will once again carry the name of our friends at Perrys.

"Our relationship with them is now a longstanding and successful one and I hope that will continue for many years to come."

One new name at the AESSEAL New York Stadium is Hornbuckle, who are a leading pension provider, with their branding to be featured on the back of the first team shorts from the start of the upcoming season, replacing Balreed who have now moved to away shirt sponsor.

The deal follows on from previous work and Phil Smith, CEO at Hornbuckle, said: "Hornbuckle are delighted to be associated with innovative progressive businesses of which Rotherham United Football Club certainly fall into that category."

The South West Corner at AESSEAL New York Stadium will carry the Complete Utility Solutions name from the start of the 2015/16 season. Complete Utility Solutions are a Rotherham-based business that can save time and money by providing utility products (gas, water and electricity connections / consultancy) at a much reduced cost using blue chip accredited companies for construction works.

Stephen Ramsden, commercial director at Complete Utility Solutions, said: "We're very pleased to be involved with a progressive business like Rotherham United.

"We feel that their forward-thinking approach matches what we practice here at Complete Utility Solutions.

"Essentially we are fans that have done well in business. We have a box at AESSEAL New York Stadium and enjoy coming to the games and just wanted to do that little bit more for the town and the football club."

The busy week also saw Rotherham United complete an extended agreement that will see East Midlands Trains remain as a club partner for a further 12 months.

News: Darren's journey from Rotherham salesman to MD at Perrys

By

Perrys Motor Sales has announced the appointment of Darren Ardron as managing director, 25 years after he began working in the sales department at the Rotherham showroom.

The Northampton based business, which has 46 franchised dealerships nationwide, employs 1,500 people with an annual turnover close to £500m. Perrys is the largest independent Peugeot dealer in the country and have one of the largest network of Vauxhall dealers.

Ardron is an internal appointment and his association with Perrys began at Rotherham in 1987, and he has since held numerous senior positions within the group including general manager at a number of key dealerships, culminating in his appointment as regional director North in 2013.

The company said that Ardron's remit will include the continued development of the business through organic growth and acquisitions. A keen focus will also be to maintain and "nurture Perrys' reputation for excellent customer care."

Darren Ardron, managing director at Perrys Motor Sales (pictured), said: "I'm delighted to have been given this challenge and I look forward to helping develop the Perrys business in the future. Perrys is a brand I am proud to have worked for 25 years.

"Its ongoing success can be accredited to its commitment to the core values of customer care, quality vehicles and staff retention that combine to make it a competitive, successful and progressive business."

A former pupil at Oakwood Comprehensive, Darren trained as an apprentice technician and worked for British Steel before he joined Perrys as a sales executive in 1987. After two years, at the age of 21, he became the youngest ever sales manager in the company.

Current managing director Ray Sommerville, who has chosen to retire on June 30, has moved into the chief executive role alongside chairman Ken Savage.

Ken Savage, chairman at Perrys Motor Sales, said: "Darren has been a great asset to the company over many years and I am confident he will build on the work Ray has put in over the last 14 years.

"His grassroots understanding of the business means he is ideally placed to identify the business’s strength, taking it into a new chapter of growth."

News: Millers extend Perrys deal

By

Rotherham United has agreed a one-year sponsorship extension with Perrys, the local franchised dealership for new Chevrolet, Kia and Vauxhall cars.

The extended agreement will see the Perrys' name stay on the back of the Rotherham United home shirt for the 2014/15 campaign.

Perrys, whose Rotherham-based dealership is based just up the road from New York Stadium at Parkgate, have been long time partners of the club, and will now extend their partnership for at least another season.

Steve Coakley, commercial director at Rotherham United (pictured, centre), said: "Following the recent announcement that we have agreed a shirt sponsorship extension with Parkgate Shopping, I am very pleased to extend our agreement for the back of the home shirt with Perrys.

"Perrys have been a prominent partner of the club for some time. This extension further demonstrates the regard with which the club holds and our relationship with Perrys stretches further than just the name on the back of the shirt, it is a true reciprocal partnership.

"This is another positive agreement for the club which continues to make good progress, both on and off field."

Darren Ardron, regional director for Perrys (pictured, left), added: "As a company we are delighted to have agreed an extension to our long running partnership with the club. It's very clear the way the club are wanting to progress both on and off the field and for that reason we had no hesitation in extending this partnership."

Ardron's association goes back even further to the 1930s and 1940s when his Grandfather, Wally Ardron, was a prolific striker for the club.

News: It's a Perrys deal for Rotherham United

By

Rotherham United has announced an extended sponsorship agreement with car dealership, Perrys.

The Millers have had a lengthy association with the company which will now continue until at least 2012, with the Perrys name to be displayed on the back of the home and away shirts for the 2010/2011 season and the home shirt for the 2011/2012, with an option on the away shirt as well.

Rotherham United's Commercial Director Steve Coakley said: "This is another piece of very positive news for Rotherham United as we look to continue to plan and develop this Football Club over the next few years.

"When it was announced earlier in the season that Perrys were to extend our partnership on the back of the home and the away shirt for this season and on the back of the away shirt for the 2010/2011 season, I remember saying that it was imperative that partnerships of this magnitude are maintained and developed providing everyone with longevity to work at gaining the best return, and I am particularly proud that we've been able to achieve just that in such a short space of time."

Perrys Regional Director Darren Ardron was equally pleased to extend the partnership, citing the Millers off the field progress as a major pull for the company:

"We have seen a massive improvement on the commercial side at the club over the last six months and so we are delighted to be involved for at least another two years," he said.

Mr. Ardron's association goes back even further to the 1930s and 1940s when his Grandfather, Wally Ardron, was a prolific striker for the club.
