This free event is the next Success on Tour business breakfast master class on Friday February 5 and is packed with information to help senior business people stay ahead of their competitors.

Director Gordon Bridge will host the visit and tour of AESSEAL's new and award winning factory and will reveal how the company has managed financial and cultural risks through its expansion.

AESSEAL was established in 1981 and is now selling to 93 countries worldwide with subsidiaries in 33 countries.

Director Gordon Bridge said: "We took a step by step approach to test each local market. The challenge for businesses is to know when it would be advantageous to work with a local partner and then making sure your partner shares your business values.

Leading Rotherham firm, AESSEAL is opening their doors for Success on Tour - a series of free breakfast master classes, packed with information to help senior business people stay ahead of their competitors.

Gordon Bridge, director of AESSEAL is one six Business Ambassadors chosen by Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber Rosie Winterton, who will attend the launch event at BT in Leeds, on Friday 16 October 2009.

Rosie Winterton MP said: "This is a real opportunity for businesses to tap into the wealth of experience from some of our region's top business leaders and get advice on how they can respond in these challenging times. The events are also a great chance to network with other business people and to swap ideas and tips."

AESSEAL will host a master class on growing sales internationally. AESSEAL was established in 1981 and is now selling to 93 countries worldwide with subsidiaries in 33 countries.

Their precision engineered mechanical seals are found in industry sectors including oil and gas, pharmaceutical, mining, power generation, pulp and paper and food processing. Mechanical seals are even used in hydrofoils and torpedoes.

AESSEAL has grown overseas in a variety of ways - sometimes with a distributorship, through a joint venture or with a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The event at Templeborough will take place on February 5 2010.

News: Rapid redundancy support service to be strengthened

A rapid response service for redundancies in Yorkshire is to be expanded to bring immediate benefits to any individual losing their job after a Jobcentre Plus proposal got the backing of Regional Minister Rosie Winterton and the top-level Economic Delivery Group. Jobcentre Plus will now offer its rapid response service to any individual losing their job. Up to now, the service has been aimed at employers announcing 20 or more redundancies. Rosie Winterton said: "Jobcentre Plus and all agencies involved have offered an excellent service to the region in support of those affected by redundancy. However the scale and pace of redundancies brought about by the global economic downturn is unprecedented; affecting all sectors and impacting on large numbers of companies, people and their communities. "I want to ensure we continue to maximise all the measures announced by the Government and to support everyone who is affected by losing their jobs." Gill Farnsworth, Director of Jobcentre Plus and a member of the Minister's Economic Delivery Group, said: "It has the backing of all key partners and shows commitment throughout the region to support everyone in what are difficult and challenging personal times."

News: Rotherham Business Ambassadors sign up to support the region

Rosie Winterton, Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber, has recruited nearly 30 leading business people to support the region. She is using their business knowledge and experience to help other businesses in the downturn as well as to support the region’s inward investment plans. Their first activity is an open letter to all regional media, urging businesses to continue investing in skills through the downturn and to use the free business support available. The open letter is signed by 19 of the Ambassadors focusing on skills and business support and includes Rotherham based business figures Nick Cragg of Nicholas Associates, Gordon Bridge of AESSEAL and Julie Kenny of Pyronix. The letter highlights that these business leaders have successfully survived a number of recessions, and are pooling their experiences to identify what they believe are the priorities now for Yorkshire and Humber’s businesses. They urge businesses to continue investing in skills. The letter states: "A big issue for many businesses right now is cost cutting – and training budgets are often the first to go. But it is a false economy. "Even in these difficult times, there are real opportunities we should seize. In many businesses, it may be easier now to release staff for training. Larger businesses could strengthen their supply chains by developing training in partnership with suppliers." Other areas they highlight include a focus on marketing and the pursuit of excellent customer service. Rosie Winterton said: "I am extremely grateful for this commitment by Business Ambassadors to support the region in whatever way they can. "They are also urging businesses to use the free support available and to contact Business Link to maximise every opportunity. "Other Ambassadors are keen to support us in our plans for inward investment and promote the region as a great place for business both nationally and internationally. "My priority as Regional Minister is to work with regional partners to ensure businesses and the wider community have the help they need to get through difficult times."
