News: Rotherham's AES named Company of the Year
AES Engineering has been named Company of the Year at the CBI's annual Growing Business Awards. In order to win its latest accolade, AES had to demonstrate it was "an outstanding business whose growth, ambition and quality of management had enabled it to out-perform its peers financially and had delivered on a compelling business strategy." The mechanical seal manufacturer is one of Rotherham's most recognised businesses after being named Business of the Year by the British Chambers of Commerce and Britain's best manufacturer in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers' (IMechE) prestigious Manufacturing Excellence Awards in 2006. In the same year, founder and managing director Chris Rea was named Northern Entrepreneur of the Year and awarded the title 'Master Entrepreneur'.
