News: Girls compete to dress the borough

As part of Rotherham Ready’s 13 enterprise skills, students at Thomas Rotherham College have been designing t-shirts and putting the Creativity and Innovation principle into action. The AS and A level textiles pupils had to come up with a winning design aimed at one of four categories - primary school girl, primary school boy, secondary school girl and secondary school boy. Along with applying their creativity skills, the students identified the financial costings of running a real business, like profits, material prices and labour costs. The winning design will be sold through the Rotherham Ready website and the t-shirts will form part of the girls’ final coursework.
