News: Brookfields Park in the zone

By

There are just two plots of 4.5 and 10 acres left for development at Brookfields Park warehouse and office site in the Dearne Valley, Rotherham, and each carries coveted Enterprise Zone designation. Big names such as Next Plc, Maplin Electronics and Garnett Dickinson have already taken space at the 85-acre site, which is being marketed by Knight Frank and Lambert Smith Hampton on behalf of St Paul’s Developments Plc and Tritax. Peter Whiteley, partner at Knight Frank’s Sheffield office states that the Enterprise Zone status makes Brookfields Park one of the most cost effective business parks in the country. "Enterprise Zones provided many of the best deals available in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Many thought these zones had finished, but one still exists in South Yorkshire. "Any unit or build on the site has its tax incentive status protected by the developers for a further ten years." Peter also said: "We are confident of making further announcements on this development in the near future. Brookfields Park is attractive as a proposition based just on its location and proximity to the transport network, but the tax incentives, coupled with the maximum level of assistance available under the DTI’s Selective Finance Investment programme for capital expenditure to companies locating to the site, it will continue to be in demand."
