News: Rotherham to host aerospace engineering debate

Experts in the field of advanced metals and materials will converge on Rotherham next week to debate the use of metals vs composites in the aerospace sector. IMechE, the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, is hosting the event at Swinden House on September 24, bringing together experts to discuss the latest developments in the production of lighter metal alloys and polymer composites used in the aerospace sector. Speakers include Professor Costas Soutis, Professor of Aerospace Structures and Head of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, Ajay Kapadia, Section Manager: Adhesives, Composites and Sealants at TWI Ltd and David Phipps, Head of Composite Structures Development Centre at Airbus.
