By

Rotherham based housing specialists, Bramall Construction, part of the Keepmoat group, is celebrating after being named as one of the top 50 employers of women in the UK. The organisation has been listed in this year’s Top 50 places Where Women Want to Work league, published by The Times. The league table confirms that Bramall provides the best working environment for women, while seeking to internally showcase their female talent in new and exciting ways. According to the list, Bramall has successfully proved itself in the following key areas; the opportunities that they provide women, having progressive, transparent cultures, an ability to celebrate diversity, an eagerness to embrace new technology to facilitate work-life balance and a commitment to being socially responsible. The firm is well ahead of the industry average in terms of female recruitment and attracting women to roles which have previously been male-dominated. Women comprise 18% of Bramall’s workforce including 64 females taking up front-line roles such as bricklaying, plastering and joinery. Cath Bradbury, New Business Development Manager for Bramall Construction, said: "The construction industry has to move into the 21st century by shedding its old sexist image and selling itself to women. We are working extremely hard to show that we are a modern, supportive employer with a host of exciting career opportunities on offer."
