News: Whirlowdale Group striving in the present business climate

By

Andrew Pearce, managing director of Whirlowdale Group, spoke to Warehouse & Logistics News on the Rotherham business continuing to do well in the present business climate. Whirlowdale's head office at Rotherham co-ordinates the groups national handling network, which includes four automated or semi-automated pallet manufacturing units. Increased manufacturing capability now makes Whirlowdale one of the UK's largest pallet handlers. Andrew told the magazine: "Our business is still going strong; we continue to see improved turnover figures every quarter. The market has remained the same, but is showing some signs of a slowdown. "Our annual turnover is around £30 million. We have seen several good organic growth years, and are currently negotiating takeover of a company with a turnover of £24 million." The group's Rotherham site on the Canklow Meadows Industrial Estate has doubled in size thanks to investment of around £1 million, and so far this has created 30 jobs.
