News: Martek's system chosen for Royal Navy of Oman's New Patrol Vessels

By

Rotherham's Martek Marine have received an order from BVT Surface Fleet for the installation of the MM2000 addressable gas detection system on three vessels they are building for the Ministry of Defence of the Sultanate of Oman.

BVT is the UK's leading provider of surface warships. It was established in early 2008 and brings together the surface warship building and through-life support operations of BAE Systems and VT Group, including their joint venture, Fleet Support Limited.

The systems are designed to provide an early warning of any refrigerant leaking into the atmosphere and to detect the presence of flammable gas.

The detection systems will be used to monitor engine rooms, sewage treatment/refridge machinery plant rooms and the aviation turbine fuel (AVTUR) storage areas.
