News: UKTI paves the way to Europe for Rotherham company
Rotherham's Inditherm is being used as a case study by UK Trade & Investment as a firm establishing itself in the global marketplace.
Inditherm's energy efficient polymer technology is used in heating mattresses, pipework, sports pitches, storage vessels and medical treatments.
The niche medical products include the CosyTherm neonatal range which helped Inditherm to pick up the UKTI sponsored Export Achievement Award after their export sales increased by a staggering 338%.
The case study goes back to a mixup in the booking for Medica 2004 in Düsseldorf which lead to Inditherm making contact with UKTI.They discovered that if it joined the Passport to Export programme not only would it benefit from the expertise of UKTI's advisers, but it would be eligible for a stand at Medica and funding to help cover the cost of attending.
"We've attended Medica every year since 2004, and have found many of our global distributors there," says Inditherm's Nick Bettles.
"The work of UK Trade & Investment and Association of British Healthcare Industries in organising the exhibition has been critical to our success. We're proud to have received the Export Achievement Award and are now looking forward to extending our success into new niches in the medical market, including further neonatal products and a device for oncology used in chemotherapy treatment."
