News: New lightweight water bottle is a clear winner for Beatson Clark

By

Increasing interest in the water bottle market has led Rotherham specialist glass manufacturer Beatson Clark to invest in moulds for a new 330ml white flint lightweight water bottle.

This new bottle designed by the Greasbrough Road firm compliments their 750 ml water bottle and is coupled with developing customer requirements for more environmentally friendly products.

Beatson Clark marketing manager Charlotte Taylorsaid "Pure water in pure glass is the perfect combination. As a packaging material, glass is completely inert and does not allow for any contamination of contents to take place - an essential consideration for drinking water.

"When you add in the environmental benefits of glass, coupled with the advantages of these new lightweighted products, it is not surprising we are seeing an increase in interest for these drinks bottles."

Lightweighting is becoming increasingly important as manufacturers and customers alike become more aware of the environmental impact of the products they choose. Lightweighting reduces the use of raw materials as well as both manufacturing and transport costs, protecting the environment and conserving valuable resources.
