News: Plans for Catcliffe retail development submitted
Plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of a retail park in Catcliffe, Rotherham.
Stadium Ltd has submitted plans to subdivide the former Big W store at Catcliffe into six retail units and build a further 8 "kiosk" units for either retail, restaurants, cafes or hot food takeaways.
Submitted by agents GL Hearn and drawn up by DLA Architecture, the proposals would create over 11,000 sq m of retail space and seek to include a discount food retail store and potentially could include convenience and "variety goods" stores.
The application states that the development could create 450 jobs.
It was reported that Stadium bought the store for around £34m in 2006, but it has been vacant since Woolworths went into administration.Rotherham
