News: Rotherham-based Newburgh commits to aerospace and defence programme
Newburgh Engineering, based in Rotherham, has demonstrated its business commitment to continual improvement by embarking on SC21 implementation, the programme that is designed to significantly improve performance within the entire UK supply chain for the aerospace and defence sectors.
Working with Industry Forum on the SC21 programme, Newburgh Engineering has recently achieved an excellent result for a first time assessment against the Manufacturing Excellence framework, which aims to accelerate the competitiveness of suppliers and deliver long term value to customers.
Vincent Middleton, managing director said: "As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, it was the logical next step for us to work towards SC21.
"We have been operating to the exacting high standards required in the aerospace, nuclear, and defence industries for several years and are already well on the way to being able to achieve many of the standards set under SC21.
"We see major opportunities going forward for us in these industries and the programme will formalize what we do and enhance our credentials, so we can develop future business in this area."
Matthew Jewitt, commercial manager adds: "Working towards SC21 involves a great deal of commitment, but the long term benefits are huge. We see the defence, aerospace, and nuclear industries as our major growth markets for the future and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead."
The Templeborough company, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, is renowned within the UK for its high quality precision engineering across many industry sectors.
