News: Repair firm to create new jobs in Rotherham
A repair firm will almost double the amount of staff it employs at its call centre near Rotherham – after the recession fuelled a demand in people fixing their household goods.
North East-based 0800 Repair has been going from strength-to-strength throughout the recession and plans to create more than 60 jobs nationally over the next five years.
The company fixes household goods, such as fridges, cookers and washing machines, for homeowners and major High Street retailers such as Argos, LG Electronics and Panasonic.
As part of it expansion plans, it is looking at boosting its workforce at the call centre at the Waterside Business Park, Dinnington, near Rotherham from ten to 18.
Paul Feek, 0800 Repair's managing director, said: "Throughout the recession we've found more and more people have been calling us to repair household items, like their washing machines, than throwing them out and buying new ones."We'll be expanding operations in the North East and in Rotherham and we'll be needing more staff to help us achieve that."
The company provides sub-contracting work for a network of 400 engineers and is also rolling out the brand nationally via 150 franchisees, comprising trusted engineers who want to run their own businesses.
0800 Repair, which is part of the Pacifica Group, is expecting to see a turnover of £12m in 2009/2010
