By

Dormer Tools will display their engineering expertise in the aerospace industry at the 2010 Farnborough International Airshow.

The Rotherham company is exhibiting at the prestigious show (July 19-23) within the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) pavilion.

Dormer, which is a member of the NWAA, will use the event to showcase a selection of tooling designed specifically for cutting composite material in the aerospace sector.

The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) is one of the world's most iconic global aviation events and holds a prominent position within the aerospace calendar.

At the last event in 2008, more than $88.7bn worth of orders was announced by business delegates at the show.

Ricky Payling, Dormer's key account manager for aerospace and composites, said: "The Farnborough Airshow will be a perfect opportunity to highlight our aerospace tooling services.

"The aerospace industry has always been at the cutting edge of engineering technology and Dormer Tools is playing a key role in advancing new innovations and techniques in cutting composite material.

"We have produced a wide range of composite drills and we will be displaying many of our high performance tools at the show, speaking face to face with other industry leaders."

Aerospace is a key focus for Dormer's R&D operations on the Advanced Manufacturing Park. With the industry's current demand for innovation, new materials and improvements in productivity, part of the R&D efforts relate to the development of new tools for the machining of advanced aerospace materials.
