News: SIA acquired by Sheffield IT Group

Systems Integration & Automation Limited (SIA), the Rotherham company which provides safety, protection and control systems to the oil & gas, power and nuclear industries, has been acquired by Sheffield based IT Group, CSE-Global (UK) Limited.

SIA, employing nearly 50 staff and operating from offices in Dinnington and Aberdeen, provide a wide range of engineering and construction services ranging from conceptual design, systems implementation, panel manufacture and factory acceptance testing through to installation, commissioning and post handover activities.

SIA provide systems for clients including: BP, e-on, Shell and British Nuclear Group. The business will fit within the existing Controls division of CSE, which specialises in pipeline controls and alarm management on a global basis.

SIA's business will provide a base for CSE Global (UK) Group to further expand its existing activities within the oil & gas, power generation and nuclear sectors.

CSE Global (UK) Group annualised turnover exceeds £34 million and the acquisition of SIA will increase this by a further 25%.

Alan Stubbs, Managing Director of the CSE Group (UK) Group said: "I am delighted that SIA has agreed to join the CSE Global (UK) Group of companies, SIA will become a key part of CSE's expansion and we intend to invest further and grow the business providing career development opportunities in the South Yorkshire area and Aberdeen."

Ian Gilbert, the partner who led the legal team at Walker Morris said: "CSE-Global (UK) Limited is a long-standing client of the firm and we have acted for them on a number of corporate, commercial and IT related issues. The acquisition of SIA is good news for all involved and the business will integrate well with the existing controls business."
