News: Bramall commended at National Apprenticeship Awards

By

Rotherham firm Bramall Construction has gained national recognition for its apprenticeship scheme.

The Manvers firm where highly commended as one of the top three companies in the "Large Employer of the Year" category at the National Apprenticeship Awards.

The results, announced in London earlier this month, placed Bramall alongside influential and national companies such as Rolls Royce and savings and investment giant Skandia.

The eight winning and 16 highly commended apprentices and employers were recognised for their huge achievements and commitment to Apprenticeships over the past twelve months.

Bramall were the only construction company in the country to make it to the finals out of 1300 companies which submitted entries.

In May, the company scooped the Large Employer of the Year award at the regional finals of the Apprenticeship Awards.

Bramall was commended by judges for making Apprenticeships the lifeblood of its business and for offering opportunities - particularly to less advantaged groups - allowing them to really turn their lives around. The panel also recognised the encouragement Bramall has given to apprentices to enter SkillBuild competitions and highlighted the company as an excellent role model.

58 apprentices are employed nationwide in areas such as carpentry, joinery and bricklaying.
