News: Future machining strategies in Rotherham

By

The next event of the Advanced Manufacturing Forum, to be held on Tuesday September 28 in Rotherham, focuses on future machining strategies for aerospace and other industries.

The forum is a technology network for manufacturing businesses organised by The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing (AMRC).

As aerospace primes continue to manufacture increasingly complex parts from ever more exotic materials, their research collaborations with industry look to develop new tools, technologies and techniques for use on the next generation of machine tools.

The event will showcase how ongoing research within Rolls-Royce, component suppliers and machine tool manufacturers will help UK companies to utilise their equipment more effectively.

Speakers will include: Rolls-Royce Plc, Mori Seiki UK Ltd, and WFL and the event will take place at the The AMRC Rolls-Royce Factory of the Future on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham.

The last forum meeting attracted 120 delegates from manufacturing companies across the country eager to learn more about the opportunities in the UK's nuclear new-build programme, and to network with industry leaders.
