News: Vision Express sets sight on expansion at Parkgate

By

Vision Express is moving to Parkgate Shopping in Rotherham.

The optician's will be re-opening on Friday September 24 in the unit previously occupied by Subway.

Vision Express has been established in Rotherham for 14 years and has recently left its Effingham Street branch in Rotherham town centre. Tony Wing and Melanie McKee own the local franchise, working together to offer a high quality eye care service.

Tony said: "We are delighted to have found new premises in such a popular location. Vision Express has established a loyal and growing local clientele over the past 14 years, and the move to Parkgate will enable us to offer a greater range of products, improved appointment availability and also enable us to open late nights and Sundays."

The move has also resulted in the recruitment of three additional part time staff.

On Saturday September 25 Parkgate shoppers will be able to see the famous Vision Express "Eyeball" character walking around the Park handing out leaflets. The recipient will be entitled to a £20 reduction off prescription eyewear on presenting the leaflet in the store.

Denis Copeland, Parkgate Shopping Manager added: "We are delighted to be welcoming Tony and his team to Parkgate. Not only will Vision Express be the first optician on the Park for over 20 years, but its arrival means that all our units are now fully let."

Owners, British Land are also working on plans to bring ASDA Living and Maplins Electronics to Parkgate, and combine PC World and Currys into a Currys Megastore.
