News: Martek chief to share eco expertise

Paul Luen, the chief executive of innovative Rotherham company Martek Marine will give green entrepreneurs a head start in business at a unique boot camp this week.

He will share his expertise with hundreds of fledging businesses during a three-day event from November 10 - 12 at BioCity - one of Europe's most successful science business incubators situated in Nottingham.

The chief executive will join a Dragon's Den panel of industry professionals giving start ups valuable advice on their innovations.

He said: "I'm passionate about championing entrepreneurialism and developing talent. The boot camp is a vibrant "hands-on" training and learning event where start ups can network and meet potential business partners and investors as well as learn from experts how to enhance and improve their innovations and products."

The Manvers company is the world leader in safety and environmental monitoring equipment for commercial ships. They have invested in the Renewables Network, the private sector group that is helping member companies to harness the opportunities in Yorkshire and the Humber's renewable energy market. The group is hosting a number of events and offering training opportunities to firms operating in the offshore wind industry.
