News: PDR Construction awarded Rotherham Aldi contract

By

German discount retailer Aldi Stores Ltd has awarded Hull-based PDR Construction a £2m contract to build a new store in Rotherham.

The plans by The Harris Partnership and 3e Consulting Engineers for a 950 sq m store were approved in January and could create 15 - 20 jobs.

Work starts on the former Matthewman's car showroom on Fitzwilliam Road in Eastwood in early January.

PDR director John White said: "UK business is good for discount retailers such as Aldi, and we are benefiting from their expansion plans thanks to our track record of delivering successful projects for them."

This will be PDR's 12th Aldi project, following successful work for them in Grimsby, Sheffield, Willerby and refurbishments with Darlington south region.

In addition, PDR has also started this week with a £500k enabling package at Aldi Pocklington, near York.
