News: Roberts steps down at Fripp Design
After spending five years establishing Fripp Design and Research as one of the top industrial design practices in the UK, Steve Roberts is relinquishing his position as managing director.
From their premises on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, Fripp Design and Research doubled its workforce and its turnover in 2010 and also significantly increased its customer base, adding well-known names such as B&Q, Boots, Balfour Beatty, The Wellcome Trust and Sheffield University to its portfolio.
The company has announced the appointment of Tom Fripp to the position of managing director following from the appointment of Charles Turner, managing director of Sheffield based knife manufacturer Durham Duplex, as non executive chairman in May.
Steve Roberts said: "After five years, working closely with Tom and Sue (Steve's wife), building Fripp Design and Research's reputation and revenues, it is now time to hand over the reigns to the next generation.
"Fripp has some very exciting opportunities in the area of rapid manufacturing which require Tom's expertise to drive the business to the next level."
Steve will be staying on as a non executive director to provide Tom with support and guidance in his new role. "Tom has the unanimous support of all the Shareholders and I wish him well in what is a very exciting time for the business." added Steve.
