News: LSM achieves environmental management accreditation

London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co Limited (LSM) in Rotherham has recently been awarded the BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 accreditation, an internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses and prescribes controls for those activities that have an effect on the environment such as handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.

Itamar Resende, Managing Director of LSM, said: "We are very proud to have been awarded this accreditation, by achieving this certification LSM has shown that we are a company who is committed to environmental issues and are prepared to work towards improving the environmental."

Founded in 1938, LSM is a highly successful manufacturer of high specification metals and alloys and an acknowledged global leader in the metals industry. LSM's head office and main manufacturing plant is located on Fullerton Road.

The Rotherham plant together with its sister company, LSM Brasil SA, based in Sao Joao del Rei, produces a range of specialised products for the aluminium industry, the steel industry, superalloys, hard facing, welding and the glass industry.

LSM is a member of the Advanced Metallurgical Group NV, (AMG) and LSM has recently established a manufacturing facility, LSM (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd, based in the People's Republic of China.
