By

Hercules Unit Trust (HUT), advised by British Land and managed by Schroders, has confirmed five new brands for Parkgate Shopping, in Rotherham, including retail and catering brands Best Buy, Currys Megastore, ASDA Living, Maplin and Frankie and Benny's restaurant.

Together they could create 250 additional jobs at the park.

The total letting of 146,500 sq ft across the five deals, is a combination of a 47,000 sq ft Best Buy unit set to open in the Summer, a 5,000 sq ft Maplin store, a 53,000 sq ft Currys Megastore, a 38,000 sq ft ASDA Living store and a 3,500 sq ft Frankie and Benny's restaurant which is yet to achieve planning permission.

Simon Meacock, British Land Asset Manager for Parkgate said: "A combination of diverse retail brands, in addition to a popular catering offer, creates variety and a positive experience for shoppers at Parkgate. We are excited to have achieved these five key lettings."

Keith Wilson, Head of ASDA Living Acquisitions added: "We feel Parkgate Shopping Park will provide an ideal location for the Asda Living format. We are sure that our extensive range of homewares, electricals, books, toys and of course the George clothing range will be well received by shoppers.

"The ASDA foodstore in Aldwarke Lane, Rotherham has become an integral part of the local community. I am sure the ASDA Living store in Parkgate will add to this relationship by providing quality goods at affordable prices."

Harvey Spackfield, Morgan Williams and Wilkinson Williams acted on behalf of HUT across the five deals. Agents, Curson Sowerby, represented Best Buy, Robert Bebington & Co for Maplin. In addition, Reis Short represented Frankie and Bennys and Currys Megastore acted for themselves.

The park has 42 shops and attracts over seven million customers a year.
