News: Inditherm add new system to medical range

By

Innovative Rotherham company, Inditherm has unveil their latest advanced solution for neonatal warming.

The Manvers company has further developed their CosyTherm system that uses their patented, low voltage carbon polymer technology to help prevent hypothermia in new born babies.

The mattresses fit existing equipment and allows more expensive and sophisticated equipment, such as incubators, to be freed up for babies with greatest need. The system is ideally suited for use in Special Care Baby Units (SCBU), Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), maternity wards and the delivery suite.

The new CosyThermNT is even more compact and lightweight and includes integrated battery power and DC input, designed to help with the transport and transfer of the new born patients.

Over 80 UK NHS neonatal departments are now using Inditherm systems, seeing the benefits of the highly effective heated mattresses and rapid warm-up time. CosyTherm is now installed in over 30 countries worldwide. The company expect that, with the new system providing greater flexibility and allowing wider applications, these numbers will rise even more rapidly.

Nick Bettles, Inditherm's CEO, said: "A number of our users had asked us to provide features that will assist in the transport of small babies, as they saw it would be the ideal solution for moving vulnerable neonates both inside and outside the hospital.

"We believe that the battery power option will open up wider market opportunities for the company at the same time as satisfying a real clinical need."
