News: Martek Marine launch new products

Rotherham company, Martek Marine, are taking the next step in providing a complete gas detection service by launching new products.

The Manvers company is the world leader in safety and environmental monitoring equipment for commercial ships and has recently launched a range of marine portable gas detectors.

They work alongside Fastcalgas, Martek's calibration service for ship owners and managers and their fixed gas detection systems found in vessels across the world.

The innovative company has also recently launched MariNOx Evolution onto the global shipping market. It is the latest version of their groundbreaking MariNOx diesel engine emissions monitoring system which has been successfully installed on over 100 vessels worldwide.

Based largely on the existing tried-and-tested MariNOx technology it includes a number of new features designed to enhance efficiency such as simpler installation and enhanced software that provides more a accurate recording of emissions.

As an optional extra, MariNOx Evolution can be configured to integrate opacity sensor input, measuring the density of engine smoke, directly into its control software.

"This makes MariNOx Evolution unique in the market," says Steve Coulson, marketing director at Martek Marine, "and we believe this new feature will greatly assist shipowners in monitoring the performance of marine diesel engines in order to reduce environmental impact."

The first order for MariNOx Evolution has recently been completed and other contracts have been confirmed for the new generation system, which is now Martek Marine's standard emissions monitoring offer.
