News: Gala Tent opens Rotherham facility
Fast-growing marquee specialist Gala Tent Ltd is moving into new premises in Rotherham.
Gala Tent has grown from a table top operation in Grimethorpe to a company with a turnover in excess of £5m in just over a decade. The company is the UK's largest supplier of marquees and gazebos, exporting across Europe and to the US.
The company has survived the recession and expanded a number of times. Their The new headquarters at Fairfield Park in Manvers will be officially opened by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Shaun Wright.
Established in 1999 by current MD Jason Mace, Gala Tent the company has expanded from a temporary table top operation in the function room of a local working men's club to an international supplier. Selling though the company's showroom, mail order, telephone sales and online shopping channels Gala Tent was in the vanguard of web based retailing with internet sales now exceeding £1m.
Jason Mace, MD at gala Tent said: "Our growth levelled out during the last two years of recession but now we have restructured and reinvested in readiness for expansion in 2011. During this period we have been developing new products and recruiting staff in readiness for growth.
"I was determined from the outset that we would not be just another importer and reseller of goods, we have built our business on taking a product and developing it until we were happy that it did everything that our customers wanted. Product development is key and I am looking forward to seeing the market reaction when we launch some of our new products for 2011."
The company has launched a new range of commercial gazebos designed to replace the old fashioned traditional market stalls; a space saving event chair, and an entirely new look at how the traditional round banqueting table works.
Jason added: "Gala Tent has grown because it has been totally focused on identifying gaps in the market and innovating products to suit. This may be an entirely new product or an improvement to an existing one. The latest Gala Tent product is a pop up log cabin, and its launch will coincide with the opening of our new premises. However, we have already delivered our first order to a client who could not wait!"
