News: NAMTEC chief heading to Rolls-Royce

Dr Alan Partridge, CEO of The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) in Rotherham is standing down later this year to join Rolls-Royce, the world leading power systems and services company.

Dr Partridge will be joining the Rolls-Royce Engineering and Technology Division, to take on a global role with responsibility for Supply Chain development, quality and in-service fleet support across the breadth of the company's operations.

Alan Partridge said: "I am very proud of what NAMTEC has achieved over the last few years, and the benefit it has brought to many companies throughout the UK supply chain. I look forward to working closely with NAMTEC, as it further develops its portfolio of commercial services."

Martin Havenhand, chairman at NAMTEC added: "I am delighted for Alan that he has secured such a senior position in one of the UK's leading global companies. Alan is a consummate professional who has risen to the many challenges that NAMTEC has faced during the seven years he has been Chief Executive. He can be proud of his achievements and the added value he has provided to the industry."

Based at Swinden House, Moorgate, NAMTEC was established to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the metals and related engineering industries throughout the UK. They lead on delivering research and technology development, knowledge transfer, and training to companies in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
