News: Good start for Rotherham United

By

Rotherham United has got off to a good start to the season without a ball being kicked in the league. All the perimeter board advertising for the 2011/12 season at Don Valley Stadium has sold out.

With just over a fortnight left until the start of the new campaign, Steve Coakley, commercial director at Rotherham United, said: "We are obviously delighted to have sold out our perimeter board advertising for yet another season, however, this is just one of many ways businesses can work with the club to promote their products and/or services. We are always looking to introduce new partners in all areas of the club.

"We want to continue engaging with local businesses, however big or small, and we are confident that any partnership can be tailored to meet any businesses requirements."

The news of the sell-out is fresh off the back of increased season ticket sales for the new season and the successful launch of the new Puma range in the Red & White Shop.

Steve added: "The Red & White shop has been busy all season with both season tickets and retail and we're encouraged with how the Club is developing, especially when you take into account the current financial climate. Overall, commercial revenue continues to grow and this all bodes well for the future, particularly with the new stadium on the horizon which will take this Club onto a whole new level."

The 2011/12 season is set to be the last at Don Valley, with work underway on the site of the new stadium at the former Guest & Chrimes Foundry close to the town centre.
