News: Vitalife launch new range of teas

Vitalife, the Rotherham-based specialist tea manufacturer, is welcoming eight new "teas with purpose" to its range.

Local young entrepreneur Gavin Edley set up Vitalife in 2010 with the help of the Rotherham Enterprise Project, who exist to offer business advice and support to budding entrepreneurs.

Gavin has successfully introduced the Japanese healthy green tea called matcha to the UK and received a boost in September when he secured a deal to add the range to Holland and Barrett's online store.

Grown in the highlands of Sri Lanka, the new range of teas are carefully blended to deliver maximum health benefits. They all have a specific purpose in mind from helping drinkers to lose weight, aid restful sleep, or settle their stomach after a heavy meal.

Gavin said: "I am really excited to be adding these new specially blended teas to our range. These teas are tailored to offer different benefits to people, one will be about giving people more energy and another will be a relaxing tea. They are all blended using natural herbs at a tea farm in Sri Lanka.

"Vitalife is doing really well and I am really pleased with the help and support I've received from my business coach, Darren McDool, who not only helped me to secure premises in Moorgate Crofts and then a unit in Treeton but also has been on hand whenever I've needed him to provide business support and advice.

"Next on the agenda for us after the launch of our new teas will be to develop a range of cereals, cereal bars and other-healthy products under the Vitalife brand."

Jackie Frost, project manager for Rotherham Youth Enterprise - one of the delivery partners for the ERDF-funded Rotherham Enterprise project, said: "Gavin is a fantastic example of a young person with high aspirations and brimming full of business ideas.

"He has worked hard to set up Vitalife and to have achieved success with a major brand is a testament to his sky's the limit vision."
