News: Game on for Rotherham student
An enterprising Rotherham student has got a head start in his career after setting up his own business.
Daniel Roddis has completed his first year studying an HND in IT at Rotherham College of Arts & Technology (RCAT) and has decided to turn his hobby in to a career.
Daniel and some of his college friends have started their own web-design business up called Design Wire Solutions and in addition, he's set up his own online gaming forum called Paranoid Scopes.
The gaming site has already attracted the attention of major gaming developers, as Daniel explains: "The gaming developers, Rebellion, approached me and offered to sponsor a gaming tournament through our website which is a really great opportunity.
"We have already looked a business premise ready to properly launch our web-design service, so it's all go at the moment."
Daniel also helped create a website for Sheffield University, where he worked alongside their business students to revamp their section of the website.
Daniel added: "Rotherham College has given the skills needed to start-up my own web-design company. The vocational aspect of the course gave me a good mix of learning alongside practical work."
