News: Gala Tent seeks new installers
Growing Rotherham business, Gala Tent is looking to expand its distributor and installer network across the region.
The company is the UK's largest supplier of marquees and gazebos, exporting across Europe and to the US. They moved into new 53,000 sq ft headquarters at Fairfield Park in Manvers in 2011.
Over the past 13 years, Gala Tent has helped dozens of hire businesses to set up throughout the country, which often starts with individuals who have bought a Gala Tent for an event and spotted the opportunity to run their own business.Gala Tent is looking for new partners, particularly in the Yorkshire region, but also UK-wide to serve growing demand from customers.
Jason Mace, managing director of Gala Tent, said: "We have some great success stories of Gala Tent hire companies setting up and expanding rapidly, even in the tougher economic climate of the past few years.
"Entertaining at home is becoming more popular which means people are extending their home into the garden with a marquee. There are also some great opportunities to hire out to pubs and clubs, due to the new legislation regarding live music. Weddings are a very lucrative area too and for many of our customers this is their main income stream.
"We are looking for more Gala Tent hire companies, especially in Yorkshire and the North, where there are some huge opportunities. We provide all the support for a new business starting out and an extensive, high quality product range. This means the payback time is quick and setting up a hire business involves a relatively small investment to get it off the ground."
David Blackett, owner of Sawtry Marquees in Cambridgeshire, had bought a Gala Tent for a party and started hiring it out on a part-time basis, whilst working a full time job. He packed in his job so he could concentrate on his marquee hire business.
David Blackett said: "I really wanted to set up my own business and Gala Tent provided a great opportunity. It was not about the money but the freedom that self employment offered me, along with the fact that I really enjoy providing marquee solutions for customers' events."
