EMSc (UK) Ltd, green tech manufacturer of the innovative Star range of energy saving products, recently welcomed the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, together with Nick Clegg, Sheffield Hallam MP and Deputy Prime Minister, to the company's new international headquarters in Sheffield.

The innovative firm has recently expanded from premises in Rotherham to a 23,620 sq ft unit comprising the head office, manufacturing space and R&D facilities.

Dignitaries, customers, partners, associates, distributors and staff from EMSc (UK) Ltd's international offices, who were invited to the launch, were given a guided tour of the facility, during which they also saw EMSc (UK) Ltd's latest innovative product Powerstar HV MAX.

The Powerstar system is the only voltage optimisation system wholly designed and manufactured in the UK and works by reducing the the voltage supplied by the National Grid. It can actively reduce electrical energy consumption by an average of 12-15% of consumed electricity.

The company outgrew its premises at Templeborough and relocated to St Paul's Developments' Smithy Wood Business Park.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, said: "EMSc UK Ltd are a great example of another outstanding local business who are exporting the "Made in Sheffield" brand throughout the World. I'm hugely impressed by their products and welcome the fact that their research, development, sourcing and manufacturing is all done right here in the UK.

"Going green is good for the economy and good for climate change. The UK green sector is a success story - it is the sixth largest in the world and has a crucial part to play in building a strong economy."

Dr. Alex Mardapittas, managing director at EMSc (UK) Ltd, added: "The move to a new, larger facility is an important step for us, as it will allow us to continue manufacturing our products in the UK, including our latest addition Powerstar HV MAX. It will also give us the capacity to grow our team of people.

"Whilst we recognise the worldwide economy is experiencing a sustained period of insecurity and instability, it remains an exciting time for EMSc, as we continue to escalate our activities and expand, whilst always remaining adaptable and customer focused.

"As a company we are firmly behind the belief that manufacturing represents a major opportunity to kick-start the UK economy. ""Made in the UK" is a key marketing differentiator and we hope our success will help inspire other manufacturing companies and innovations."
