News: Gala Tent set fayre for Wentworth Woodhouse
The Wentworth Spring Fayre, which previously had to be delayed due to snow at the end of March, is set for success this weekend with 70 stalls booked and hundreds of visitors already registered for the event.
The free-to-attend event that runs from 10am to 5pm, which is being organised by Gala Tent, based at Manvers, is one of a number of events planned for Wentworth Woodhouse this year.
Taking place in the Stable Block, stallholders will be selling a full range of arts and crafts both locally produced and from around the world, there will be home made chocolates, glassware, homeware, children's clothes, vintage furniture, jewellery, hand bags and much more. There will also be children's rides and a hog roast.
Jason Mace, managing director of Gala Tent, said: "We've had a phenomenal response from stallholders and traders to this first fayre we have organised in partnership with Wentworth Woodhouse.
"There is a great range of stalls from crafts to locally produced food to gifts, there’s definitely something for all the family. Events at Wentworth always provide a huge draw and we are expecting a really busy and lively event for this first Spring Fayre."
Gala Tent recently reached an agreement with Wentworth Woodhouse to be their preferred supplier of marquees and gazebos for stallholders to buy or hire when attending the prestigious stately homes' exciting range of events. As the the Grade 1 Listed building will soon also be offering itself as a wedding venue, Gala Tent will also be supplying marquees for such celebrations.
Wentworth Woodhouse is planning a number of events throughout the year, including a Flower Power Fair on July 14 and Heritage Car Rally on September 1. BBC's Antiques Roadshow is also scheduled to film at the big house in September.
Tours have also begun highlighting some of the main rooms and a Victorian style tea room has opened in the house.
Gala tent is the UK's largest supplier of marquees and gazebos, exporting across Europe and to the US. They moved into new 53,000 sq ft headquarters at Fairfield Park in Manvers in 2011 and secured a finance deal from HSBC worth £2.3m to back the business' strategic five-year growth plan.
