News: Eadon has designs on further expansion
Rotherham engineering design consultancy, Eadon Consulting, has moved office four times in six years within the AMP Technology Centre due to the growing nature of the business.
With global clients, Eadon staff are good at finding a solution to a highly complex or unusual challenge. Their design work spans across a number of sectors, with expertise in mechanical, structural, control and hydraulic design. They have worked on a wide range of projects including moving bridges, water control structures such as timber and steel lock gates, analysis of high integrity nuclear cranes as well as design of bespoke machinery and lifting equipment.
Founded in 2007 with the aim of delivering a fresh approach to engineering design and consultancy, James Hill, David Price and Michael Thorogood set out to create a client focused company that was able to provide specialist services and was dedicated to exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
The founders all spent time with Rotherham design engineers, M G Bennett and Associates, since acquired by Atkins, working on varied projects such as backup machines for some of the world's largest tunnelling machines, some of the UK's most prestigious moveable bridges, as well as special projects such as the Halley VI Antarctic Research Station.
Eadon's projects include the design of high level platforms required for servicing bridge structures, Junction Lock Swing Bridge at Bristol Docks, new flow gates on the Killaloe Canal, near Limerick, and a spectacular moving bridge at Poole Harbour in Dorset.
Eadon has already moved office four times within the AMP Technology Centre due to the growing nature of the business, with the past six months have seen four new staff join the expanding Eadon team. Their arrival brings the team up to 14 people currently and with an expanding list of exciting projects and clients to their name Eadon are constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to expand. The company aims to develop its current team to around 20 staff within the next few years.
Michael Thorogood, founder and company director at Eadon, said: "We enjoy being among likeminded technical companies here at the AMP and although we now work on many global projects being based on the Park gives Eadon excellent networking opportunities with a range of different engineering companies."
