News: Lucion acquire MPC Northern Ltd
Independent asbestos consultancy, Lucion Environmental has acquired Rotherham based company MPC Northern Ltd.
Established in 2003 and headquarted in Gateshead, Lucion has grown to seven offices nationwide specialising in the surveying, identification and analysis of asbestos containing materials.
Based at Maltby, MPC Northern Ltd began life in 1991 providing general building surveying consultancy services and asbestos surveying services to the construction industry. As the businesses grew, the MPC Northern Group was established to include separate companies with MPC Northern Ltd specialising in asbestos surveying and priority risk assessment, and all other building surveying and project management services were absorbed into MPC Northern Consultants Ltd.
The acquisition, which was finalised by Lucion's financial director, Charles Pickles and MPC managing director, Bill Perratt, will enable Lucion to further their plans to expand into the infrastructure sector and strengthen their presence within the South Yorkshire area.
Lucion said that it will be relocating their Sheffield office at Orgreave to the former MPC building, bringing the local workforce to a total of 15 employees.
Charles Pickles, financial director at Lucion (pictured above, left), said: "MPC is a long established, solid and well regarded name within our industry. Our ambition is to enhance the services offered by their offices by adding our own brand of dynamism and forward thinking attitudes. The acquisition of MPC has not only enabled Lucion to expand its service offering to more niche areas of the industry but allowed to us to expand on the highly trained staff we now have working for us."
Bill Perratt, managing director at MPC (pictured above, right), said: "I am delighted to announce that MPC has been acquired by such a reputable organisation of which I have total faith will rapidly move the business forward and take good care of our existing and much valued clients."
