News: Coldwell lands Eurosport deal

By

Rotherham-based Coldwell Boxing has secured an arrangement with Eurosport that will see the international sports broadcaster screen Coldwell Boxing's Fight Club Series.

Having tested the water by streaming their boxing events live on PCs, tablets and mobiles, the highlights show on Eurosport will feature the young stable participating in hard, well matched, fan-friendly fights, providing superb coverage to some of the leading prospects in British boxing. Controlled by Discovery Communications, Eurosport is the leading pan-European TV channel and broadcasts in 20 languages and reaches 135 million homes across 54 countries.

A former boxer himself, Coldwell went on to train the likes of Curtis Woodhouse, Kell Brook and Ryan Rhodes. Dave also became Head of Boxing at Hayemaker Boxing and played an integral part of David Haye becoming World Heavyweight Champion.

Now an established promoter, manager and trainer, the link up with sports-mad serial entrepreneur Spencer Fearn has seen Coldwell Fearn Sport establish a new gym in Maborough and stage some of the UK's biggest battles.

Dave Coldwell, managing director of Coldwell Boxing (pictured at ringside), said: "This is amazing news for myself, my team, and all of our fighters as we can all benefit from appearing on such a wide and respected platform such as Eurosport. I've made no secret of my desire to get Coldwell Boxing on TV on a regular basis and this is a fantastic way for boxing fans to finally see what Coldwell Boxing is all about. We've prided our product on being value for money and exciting and those who have never witnessed a Coldwell Boxing event will now have the opportunity to be a part of it.

"The last few years have been all about expanding our brand and becoming a force in British boxing and we've done that by featuring some of the most decorated names in British boxing. We are renowned for working with other promoters throughout the country so this deal doesn't just benefit ourselves, it benefits boxing. This is brilliant news for us and our supporters and we can't wait to reach a massive audience throughout Britain and Europe."

The next event in the Fight Club series takes place at Ice Sheffield on May 15.
