News: Servelec expand out of Dinnington

Servelec Controls has relocated its panel manufacturing and test facility to the site of its head office in Eckington.

One of the UK's largest suppliers of safety systems, protection systems and control systems, Servelec supplies large blue-chip companies in the oil & gas, power and nuclear sectors. It is part of the larger technology group.

The panel manufacturing and test facility, and multi-disciplined engineering team, has relocated from Brooklands Park at Dinnington in Rotherham to Eckington, a move that has almost doubled the manufacturing facility to over 15,000 sq ft, with the capacity to build more than 150 panels at any given time.

75 staff have now relocated to Eckington enabling them to work alongside colleagues involved with live projects in the manufacturing and test areas.

Significant investment into the existing facilities has been essential for the company's aim of increasing its manufacturing and engineering capacity in order to achieve continued growth in the both the oil & gas and power & nuclear divisions. The facility will support energy projects both in the UK and around the world.

The relocation is in line with ambitious growth plans that will see expansion across the manufacturing and engineering teams in the next three years.

Kevan Jones, managing director for Oil & Gas at Servelec Controls, said: "The move gives us improved facilities and the capability for expansion within Engineering, Manufacturing and Test departments. The new manufacturing and office facilities at Eckington are impressive and give the business the freedom to continue its growth in the coming years."

It was announced last year that, to facilitate the further expansion of the Healthcare business, the team would relocate from Eckington to an office facility close to the centre of Sheffield. The space vacated by Servelec Healthcare will be occupied by Servelec Automation allowing the sale of the Dinnington site.
