News: Magna hosts Pete’s biggest exhibition to date
Sheffield artist, Pete McKee is set to turn back time this weekend at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham.
His latest and biggest ever exhibition, the nostalgic "6 Weeks to Eternity" is a free, two-day interactive show celebrating one of everybody's favourite childhood memories, the six weeks holiday.
Set in the former Templeborough steelworks, Magna is a family attraction with more than 100 hands-on exhibits. Millions of pounds have been invested in conference facilities at the centre which plays host to nationally important music events, boxing, corporate launches and award ceremonies.
Thirty new works by Pete McKee will be featured at the event, alongside holiday memories submitted by the public, and a variety of holiday-themed activities and entertainment.
Enjoy spending some time on the back field, at the shops, cinema and Pete's house, as well as a trip to the seaside - complete with promenade, helter skelter and caravan site.

Pete McKee, said: "As the school bell rang out for the final time of the year, we filed out of school, blinking into the bright sunshine and the dawn of the promised land. A whole six weeks of doing everything and nothing. We were about to be cast off from the shackles of authority and parental guidance and sent onto the streets. We were to be feral for the summer.
"Six weeks to eternity will be the story of those lost weeks. How we survived, how we enjoyed, how we endured and how we suffered the inevitable boredom of six whole weeks off school. This is the story of the six weeks' holiday.
"We are keeping much of the exhibition a close secret until it opens but I am really looking forward to completely transforming Magna into a holiday destination like no other and hope as many people as possible will come on holiday and experience these memories with me."
Amanda Suddaby, event manager at Magna, added: "We're all very excited about seeing the venue transformed into a holiday destination for the weekend. It's great to be able to host an event for such a popular artist, who is also local to South Yorkshire. We all have memories of childhood school summer holidays and we are looking forward to re-living them at this exhibition. It's going to be a fantastic weekend!"
Pete's former bandmates, The Everly Pregnant Brothers are set to play Magna alongside Tony Christie on May 28.
