News: Flexible office space fits for fudge firm

By

A local entrepreneur has successfully transformed her passion for baking into a fully-fledged luxury confectionery and gourmet fudge business – "Laura's Fudge."

Laura Jackson established the enterprise in 2012 as a University hobby that earned her extra money while studying for a business studies degree at Sheffield Hallam University.

Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength. Earlier this year the young entrepreneur opened a confectionary shop at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster, selling a range of luxurious confectionery and fudge flavours for birthdays, special days and general gifts - which can also be purchased online.

As the company has grown so too has the fudge production process. To keep up with demand, the fudge is now made in special, traditional confectionery mixers and then handset by an outsourced local team.

In August, Laura's Fudge moved into its first Evans Easyspace office in Dinnington, Rotherham. Based at the regenerated site near the former colliery, the flexible office facility is used as an administrative hub from which Laura showcases her signature range of fudge at food festivals, shows and family events up and down the UK.

Over the summer, the business was at Great British Food Festival at Harewood House and the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations in Trafalgar Square.

Laura Jackson, founder of Laura's Fudge, said: "From starting out as a university hobby, it's been a real whirlwind journey and I'm delighted with how far the business has come. The ability to move into flexible office premises has really eased this process. Essentially we're not tied into a fixed, long term lease so we can upscale as and when we need to – this perfectly suits our immediate needs.

"We're an ambitious company and the goal is to keep growing! Our long term aim is to open more confectionary shops across the UK and build supplier relationships with major retailers."

News: KP Beds expand in Rotherham

By

KP Beds is looking to relocate after expanding in their Rotherham home.

Based in Dinnington, KP Beds supplies beds and mattresses from leading brands. The enterprise has been at the Evans Business Centre for six years and throughout their time have progressed and expanded so much so that they now have outgrown the centre and are looking to relocate.

Operated by Evans Easyspace, the centre, on the site of the former Dinnington Colliery, is a mix of offices and workshops, specifically designed for the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) market.

Rent includes rates and charges and flexible packages can be arranged to suit requirements to include costs such as heating, lighting, water, telephony and broadband. Space is let on a flexible licence agreement offering clients' two-months notice at any time in which to vacate, greatly reducing risk.

Rachel Floyd, area manager for Evans Easyspace, said: "This is another great example of how Evans Easyspace help's businesses grow. With the flexible terms it has given the client room to change units, upgrade and extend their existing unit with ease. Now they are in a position to move on into a lot larger premises after six years of growth with us.

"A lot of the companies who leave, do so because they have outgrown the workspace Evans Easyspace can provide for the SME. Although it is sad to see these companies leave, especially when they have been with you a long time, it makes us very proud that we have been part of that growth and hope that they continue to do so in their new home."
