News: Taylor&Emmet invests in new Rotherham office

By

Expanding Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, has opened its new office in the heart of Rotherham.

One of the leading and most successful law firms in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire region, Taylor&Emmet provides legal advice to business and private clients with current branches in Sheffield, Dronfield and Bakewell.

Rothbiz reported last month that office space at the heart of the historic High Street in Rotherham town centre was being readied for the law firm. 15 High Street was previously used by The Source and Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

The investment is part of the local solicitors' ambitious growth plans and takes its number of offices in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire to five.

The new Rotherham office is home to residential conveyancing and family law teams, including mediation and childcare specialists. The firm's full range of business and personal legal services will be accessible, however, as space is available for members of other departments to meet clients by appointment.

For the heads of the conveyancing and family teams, Neil Riley and Michaela Heathcote, opening a Rotherham office has particular significance, as they both grew up in the town.

Neil (pictured, third right), who still lives locally, said: "I am excited to be making Taylor&Emmet's unique range of customer-focused legal services available in a convenient location for my fellow Rotherham residents. It is no secret the town centre has faced a number of challenges during recent years, but there seems to be a renewed sense of optimism, following record investment in the borough. I am really pleased we are contributing to its future development."

News: Taylor&Emmet to open new Rotherham office

By

Expanding Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, are preparing to open a new office in Rotherham town centre.

One of the leading and most successful law firms in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire region, Taylor&Emmet provides legal advice to business and private clients with current branches in Sheffield, Dronfield and Bakewell.

Office space at the heart of the historic High Street in Rotherham town centre is being readied for the law firm. 15 High Street was previously used by The Source and Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

38 employees joined Taylor&Emmet in 2018, 23 filling new positions created to meet increasing demand for its personal and business legal services.

This record level of recruitment due to growth is double that experienced by Taylor&Emmet in 2017 and reflects the significant gains made across all departments, as part of its ambitious expansion plans. The trend is set to continue next year as the firm looks for new markets, most notably launching its Rotherham office in January.

The biggest investment in staff has been among the childcare department, which the firm set out to more than double in size in the summer. So far, three additional solicitors and a legal assistant have joined the existing team, to deliver highly specialist advice to local families and social services involved in conflicts surrounding children.

Sharna Poxon, head of human resources at Taylor&Emmet, said: "We have committed to increasing employee numbers at all levels throughout the last 12 months, to ensure we retain the high standards of client satisfaction for which we are renowned. Our business team, for example, has welcomed eight new recruits who bring expertise across a range of disciplines.

"We have identified further opportunities for growth next year and I am looking forward to continuing our exciting recruitment drive."

News: CCPI Europe acquires The Control Shop

By

CCPI-Europe Limited, a high tech industrial firm with a state of the art facility in Rotherham, has acquired The Control Shop Limited.

US-owned CCPI is a specialist in temperature calibration and manufacturing equipment that measures temperatures, used in a range of engineering and manufacturing activities. They include calibrating temperature-sensing cable used in testing Rolls-Royce jet engines.

The Control Shop is based in the West Midlands and has a strong reputation in the heat treatment, ferrous and non-ferrous sectors.

Keith Hicks, managing director at CCPI Europe, said: "We are delighted to welcome The Control Shop's customers to CCPI. This deal allows us to further build our presence in the marketplace."

Nigel Fonyodi, The Control Shop Limited's managing director, will take a role within CCPI Europe to share his expertise and enable a smooth transition for customers.

Taylor & Emmet LLP's Corporate team has advised CCPI-Europe Limited on the acquisition. Peter Crawford, partner at Taylor & Emmet, said: "CCPI is the ideal acquirer for The Control Shop. I am certain that the addition of this business to the CCPI fold will prove very successful."

The deal follows on from CCPI-Europe Limited's similar acquisition of Pyrometrics Limited in 2013.

With a £3m manufacturing, laboratory and research facility at Langtree's Vector 31 Business Park at Waleswood, CCPI manufactures mineral-insulated temperature sensors down to sizes as small as 0.5mm diameter. The UKAS-accredited laboratory conducts calibrations and calibrates sensors giving uncertainties of measurement as tiny as +/-0.004 deg C. Vital when the highest-quality measurements are required by CCPI customers manufacturing state-of-the-art aerospace components.

CCPI began in Blanchester, Ohio in 1957 and CCPI Europe was established by Fred Knight in 1984, because he believed the company had a future in the UK and Europe. So strong was his belief that he started a one-man operation in his garage. From that it has grown to employ more than 50 people.
