News: F1 Showcars goes international

By

Rotherham-based, F1 Showcars has recently completed their first overseas event, supplying their motorbike simulator for the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2011 in Barcelona.

The company was set up in 2009 to supply full sized Formula One simulator cars for hire at events. Enterprising owner Adam Tinsley, invested in an Arrows F1 simulator when the company went into administration, and adapted it for public use.

The company also feature a full size F1 showcar replica, a MotoGp motorbike simulator and a wheel change game, where guests can attempt to emulate the lightning fast pit stops seen in Formula One.

F1 Showcars has supplied their simulators to various high profile events including last year's British Grand Prix and MotoGp events at Silverstone.

Computer Associates, a leading IT management software and solutions company based in New York, attend the important event in Barcelona that attracted over 3,000 senior IT executives. They hired the impressive motorbike simulator to entertain and attract potential new customers.

It was a last minute booking and meant that the team had to apply corporate branding to the bike and drive the simulator 1,000 miles to Barcelona for the three day exhibition.

Adam Tinsley, owner of F1 Showcars, said: "We've had alot of international interest recently and I was confident that it was just a matter of time before we got our first job out of the UK.

"We have already run a pilot at last year's British Grand Prix in which we provided some of our products with the view to following the F1 circus around Europe."
